Twine Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 June 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Twine mobile apps and website ("Twine"), operated by Nikky Amresh, Bangalore, India ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Twine, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Twine.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use Twine. By using Twine you confirm that you are at least 18.

2. What Twine is

Twine is a private shared space for two people: date planning, a places wishlist, photo memories, a shared watchlist, and related features. Most content you add is end-to-end encrypted; only you and your paired partner can read it. We cannot read, recover, or restore your encrypted content. If you lose all your devices and your 12-word recovery phrase, your content is permanently unrecoverable. You are responsible for safeguarding your recovery phrase.

3. Your account and pairing

You are responsible for activity under your account and for the security of your sign-in credentials and recovery phrase. Pairing links your account with one other person; both of you can see content added to the shared space. You may unpair (leave the couple) at any time from the app.

4. Acceptable use and content

You are solely responsible for the content you add. You must not use Twine to store, share, or transmit content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative of minors, or otherwise objectionable, or to infringe others' rights. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour.

Because content is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot proactively monitor it. However:

5. The AI "date from a picture" feature

This optional feature sends a photo you choose to a third-party AI provider (Groq) to generate a suggestion. It runs only when you trigger it. AI output may be inaccurate; use your judgement. Do not submit content you are not entitled to share.

6. Third-party services and attributions

Twine relies on third-party services including Firebase (Google), Cloudflare, Groq, TMDB, and Mapbox. Your use of features powered by them is also subject to their terms. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Map data and telemetry, where maps are enabled, are provided by Mapbox and OpenStreetMap.

7. Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using Twine and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account, or the web deletion page). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or where required by law.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Twine is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that Twine will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer's total liability arising out of or relating to Twine is limited to the amount you paid for Twine in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free app, is zero). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

11. Apple and Google

If you obtained Twine through the Apple App Store or Google Play, additional store terms (including Apple's standard EULA) apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for Twine or for support; the developer is.
